ARE MY KLIM PRODUCTS COVERED BY WARRANTY?

All Klim products sold in Greece are covered by the international warranty provided that they have purchased from Most Wanted Warehouse and retain the receipt of purchase.

Our Warranty is applicable to manufacturing and material defects. However, it does not cover damage, normal wear, and tear, or abuse to the product. When an item has been damaged, we are usually able to offer repairs for a charge. Keep in mind, the warranty is for the life of your product, not your lifetime. The lifetime is determined by the amount of use you've acquired from your product. Please see the information below to learn more about our Warranty Policy and Procedures.*

  • KLIM BOOTS are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Aggressive running boards will accelerate the wear and tear on the soles of the boots. This is considered normal wear and tear. General warranty terms apply.
  • The KLIM F4 HELMET is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) years from the date of purchase. General warranty terms apply.
  • KLIM GOGGLES are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of purchase. Scratches are not covered under this warranty. General warranty terms apply.
  • All dyed/pigmented fabrics will fade under UV exposure (sunlight) over time. Klim fabrics are highly UV resistant, but HI-VIS fabrics will fade at a faster rate than normal fabrics under the same UV exposure. This is a normal property of all HI-VIS pigments/fabrics and is not considered a manufacturer

WHY DOES KLIM USE GORE-TEX® FOR WATERPROOF/BREATHABLE PERFORMANCE?

At Klim, we build our gear out of the best materials available, every time, with no exceptions. We’ve explored every option of waterproof/breathable technologies for the snowmobile and motorcycle rider and found that only gore-tex® brings the complete package of durably waterproof, supremely breathable and incredible comfort to your ride.
Some technologies do some things well, others do other things well. but nothing does it all like gore-tex®. Our partnership with gore is highly involved and if there were better technologies out there that could deliver similar results and services that gore does, rest assured we would put our name on them.
We’re confident that if you want the best there is, Klim and gore-tex® are the only way to go.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO-LAYER AND THREE-LAYER GORE-TEX?

GORE-TEX® is a highly evolved technology in waterproof/breathable garment construction. It’s not a top-coating on the outside of fabric and it’s not a magic system of weaves. KLIM’s GORE-TEX® construction is a customized combination of layers processed precisely into what we call laminates. Like a layered cake or sandwich, A KLIM garment featuring GORE-TEX® technology incorporates multiple layers.
A Two-Layer GORE-TEX® piece (like many of our Performance Shell jackets and parkas) features a laminate combo that is simply two-parts: an outer fabric and a GORE-TEX® membrane. The GORE-TEX® membrane is bonded to the outer fabric (outer shell of the garment) only. This provides high wearing comfort, flexibility and versatility/simplicity in the designs of clothing because the total laminate thickness is generally lighter. The GORE-TEX® membrane is easily seen in a Two-Layer piece like a white, slippery surface on the inside. These products usually incorporate a wicking inner liner (mesh) to help protect the GORE-TEX® membrane from wear and tear as well as enhance breathability.
In a Three-Layer GORE-TEX® piece (like all of KLIM’s pants and bibs and everything in the Pro Shell category like the Valdez Parka) the Gore membrane is bonded to both the outer fabric and an inner lining. This eliminates movement, friction and, as a result, excess wear and tear on all layers of the laminate. A Three-Layer piece also allows for advanced construction techniques like Comfort Mapping. The main benefits of a Three-Layer GORE-TEX® piece from KLIM have increased durability throughout, higher potential levels of breathability and a more robust build/feel.

GORE-TEX® OUTERWEAR | Care Instructions

Regular cleaning of your Gore-Tex Outerwear is extremely important to maintain durable waterproofness and supreme breathability. The best rule of thumb as to when you should wash your gear is this: Wash your Klim Gore-Tex garment whenever the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) is no longer e!ffective at beading water on the surface fabric or as soon as your gear looks and smells dirty.
While dirt, dust and other contaminants, as well as exhausted DWR, will have little effect on actual waterproofness and breathability, they can have a tremendous effect on comfort and all-weather performance. Here's how to wash your gear properly:

MACHINE WASH IN WARM WATER WITHOUT DETERGENT

Use a mild, liquid detergent and run an additional wash/rinse cycle without soap to ensure a complete rinse. Modern detergents contain surfactants that love water and make it wetter (the opposite of DWR’s ambitions). You want to make sure all the detergent residue is out of your garment for maximum performance and solid DWR performance. We recommend liquid detergent because it has fewer surfactants than other types of detergent.

DRY COMPLETELY ON MEDIUM HEAT

Drying with heat recharges the DWR on the fabric surface. After your Gore-Tex item is completely dry, we recommend to put it back into the dryer for an extra twenty (20) minutes to guarantee that the DWR is re-activated. DWR is important! Without it, the surface fabric of your gear will “wet-out” faster. You’ll still be dry on the inside (thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane) but conductive heat loss and comfort can quickly make your day less enjoyable. Water conducts heat 23-times as fast as air.
You want DWR to work as long as possible to keep the conductive heat loss to a minimum. DWR is not permanent and will wear off. Drying re-activates it many times but re-applying a DWR treatment is a big step in prolonging comfort.

WHEN TO REAPPLY DWR

After your gear is dry, spray it with water from a bottle or sprinkle some on with your hands. If it beads up and rolls off the gear, you're good-to-go. Go riding! If it soaks in quickly, it's time to re-apply.
Klim and Gore-Tex recommend spray-on DWR treatments like Revivex. This type of DWR is heat-activated. You spray it on your garment's exterior after the wash cycle and toss it in the dryer like normal. Follow the instructions on the bottle. Wash-in DWR treatments are not recommended as they coat all surfaces with the DWR and can negatively affect comfort and performance.

DRY CLEANING

If professionally dry-cleaned, request clear distilled solvent rinse and spray repellent.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions.

STAIN TREATMENT

Use a pre-wash treatment such as Shout® or Spray'nWash®, following its manufacturer's instructions. Rinse well.

IRONING

Steam-iron warm, placing a towel or cloth between the garment and the iron. No need to iron the garment until it is completely dry.

BLEACH

No chlorine bleach. It may damage your garment.
