"Would not it be great to be able to climb to the top of the Parnassos Ski Center with my motorbike?" I was thinking of sitting on the chalets of the ski resort of Kelarias. And this idea was done the past three days.

After several kilometers of interchange to dirt road and asphalt to Arachova, we entered the wooded part of Parnassus, heading west to Mount Giona. The landscape full of alternations. Dense vegetation originally diminished as we climbed altitude and finally the almost dry ridge rewarded us with the view of the deep blue sea in the background. Sublime!
The road to the end was quite flimsy, but we certainly arrived at the foot of Giona, to begin the ascent to Carouta. Continuing going on, the atmosphere became more and more cool, while the memory of the heatwave in Athens became a distant dream. After 1700 meters of altitude, the green mountain became gradually dry and welcomed us with the view of the large plain on the southern side of the summit at a height of 1550 meters. There we enchanted and traveled to exotic places with the Giona ridge circling us. The next uphill to the ridge was relatively demanding and steeper than what we had encountered in the mountain that day. Having conquered the entire southern part of the mountain, we began the descent from 1890 to 500 meters with permanent view of the magical Lake Mornos.
After a long and relatively demanding journey due to the fairly loose ground due to summer, we reached the village of Koniakos for a long but necessary stop. After reconfiguring forces, we headed for Athanasios Diakos for overnight stay.

The next day he found us with the batteries full and ready for new challenges. Destination Pavliani via the "fast" road and coffee stop. After a few kilometers of continuous open dirt road, perfect for fast ride with permanent sloping (east of Pavliani), we entered a tight asphalt track that led us to Gorgopotamos. The temperature had alarmed as we were looking for the great metal bridge of the railway with the terrific views of the plain. We did not delay finding a nice drop down to the river, where a dip in its icy waters and a small meal brought us back to full readiness.
Next destination is Brass and then, through Polydrosos, the magnificent climb to the top of Parnassos through Eptalofos. Continuously tight petals crossing the verdant slopes of the mountain soon brought us back to the high altitude coolness, from 300 to 1,700 meters of the Kelari ski resort.

There the adrenaline of arrival to the original goal did not let us go. Climb to the ski chalet at 1950 meters through a dirt road of moderate difficulty and 15 degrees tilt. From there, they start difficult because of the lack of a road to the top of the lift, the high slope of climbing - over 30 degrees - and the very loose and rough terrain. Soon we had reached the top of the ski track at 2230 meters that hosts the small picturesque chapel.

The experience of driving a monster of a thousand cubic and two hundred pounds to the top of a skiing is just incredible!
